the project

We are making a feature-length movie of Love & Friendship, the epistolary novella by Jane Austen which parodies novels of romantic sensibility; it is, we maintain, the funniest burlesque in English written by a fourteen-year-old girl.
We transport its action in time and place from pre-regency England to late regency Van Diemen’s Land, as the first (we hope) of many literary adaptations set here in colonial times to utilise Tasmania’s scenic and historical unicity.
